About Us

The Teachers

Twenty one years ago, Jill Olive and Amy Kahn got together and decided that they wanted to start their own preschool. Their goal was to provide a high quality program for young children with an emphasis on the crucial importance of play for the young child and the development of the sense of self and social skills so necessary for success in the world. To be holistic in their work with young children, they wanted families be an active part of the program. By keeping the group small, Jill and Amy could be available to families in an ongoing, nurturing way. Offering a mixed-age group meant that children and families would be at the preschool for at least two years. Relationships with and between families could grow and flourish as could parent support and education.

Jill and Amy have a strong commitment to Early Childhood Education. They continue to educate themselves and keep current with today’s curriculum practices. The classroom environment is filled with experiences and materials that enhance the curiosity and wonder of a child. Two caring, devoted teachers create an atmosphere that encourages learning and discovery.

Jill has a degree in Early Childhood Education and has worked for many years with toddlers and preschoolers in a variety of settings. Amy has degrees in Education and Social Work. Her experiences include preschool, early intervention, and teaching college level child study courses. Both are moms who raised their children in Needham.
